Collaborative Practice

Collaborative divorce is a process where you and your spouse work with a team of collaboratively trained professionals that provide you the guidance, resources and emotional support needed for you to tailor an agreement that best fits your unique family situation.

Collaboratively trained professionals. It is important to choose a collaborative practitioner who has had additional training and continues to train and be involved in the collaborative community.

Professionals tailored to your situation. A collaborative team consists of two attorneys, a divorce coach and a financial neutral. In the collaborative process, the professionals can be added to your team as needed. Additional professionals may include child specialists, vocational professionals and mortgage professionals.

Guidance. Your collaborative team guides you through the process of coming to an agreement by using values and principles developed with a commitment to healing the family, providing a positive durable agreement and a healthy future of co-parenting.

Resources. This process provides you a detailed analysis of your assets and legal issues needing to be resolved so that you are able to make educated decisions and enter into a lasting agreement.

Emotional support. The divorce coach assists you in maximizing your function within the collaborative process. They assist you in articulating your perspective, normalizing emotions, managing anxiety, educating you on communication and helping you to hear and understand each other and the team. They also assist the team in understanding your unique family dynamic so they can better support you.

Tailor an agreement that best fits your unique family.
